The MBTA is upgrading the fare collection system, which we are rolling out in stages over the next three years, will allow passengers to use a single card on all MBTA transit modes. In addition, we are adding new ways to pay, including through our new Charlie cards, a new Charlie mobile app, website, contactless credit and debit cards, and by phone.
The MBTA will be holding a series of meetings to seek community input on these changes and comments can also be made on the MBTA website.
