Originally built in 1886 as a private residence in the heart of Boston’s exclusive Back Bay neighborhood, the Charlesmark has been completely renovated to create a European style boutique hotel featuring a hip cocktail lounge with an outdoor patio.

All 40 guest rooms at The Charlesmark are uniquely styled by renowned designer Dennis Duffy to provide the ultimate combination of luxury, comfort, and functionality. From custom made furniture and light-toned woodwork to imported Italian tile and elegant European lighting fixtures, each room presents a soft modern motif with a residential feel.

Located within the Charlesmark Hotel, the lounge is a bustling mix of hotel guests, local professionals, and stylish savvy trendsetters. The Charlesmark Lounge is a unique venue and considered by some to be the best kept secret of the Back Bay. This hidden jewel boasts a unique design concept from award winning designer Dennis Duffy, a graduate of the Parsons School of Design. Perfect for socializing with your friends and co-workers, sleek and sexy to the eye, yet cozy in feel, the Charlesmark is the perfect mix between chic hotel martini bar and neighborhood hang out.
Open for cocktails and dinner every night at 5PM. The Boylston Street outdoor patio is open weather permitting. The dinner menu features authentic Thai cuisine.
Award winning Back Bay Bartender Jefferson Ryder manages the Charlesmark Lounge, and also bartends on Thursday and Friday nights. Jefferson’s signature martinis and flawless reputation has earned him a loyal following of patrons over the past 20 years.
The Dancing Bear Martini is just one of the many signature martinis that Jefferson has concocted.
