“Her teacher has inspired her through the lessons on terminology, patterns, and how to use her machine to create a beautiful final project.
I have never seen my daughter so focused and interested in a class. She cannot wait for the next session.”
— Wendy O’Neil, parent
“The teacher was fantastic… it was great.”
— Wendy’s daughter
Parents and teens love the online Teen Fashion Clinic and it’s easy to see why! The curriculum is designed to take you from design to finished product with no prior experience necessary. Students will get an overview of the entire process while walking away with a strong foundation of skills.
“This was the first time ever she was excited to learn and do homework.”
— Kelly Martinez, parent
“At first, we were skeptical she’d be able to learn online, but we are more than pleased with how it’s turned out.”
— Wendy O’Neil, parent
Two topics, four parts, one certificate
The Teen Fashion Clinic has two areas of focus: Fashion Art & Theory and Garment Construction, each with two parts that can be taken back to back or spaced apart. The program is designed for students to first take Fashion Art & Theory, followed by the two Garment Construction parts. However, students can take them in the reverse order or even at the same time!
After completing all four segments, students will receive a certificate of completion and have created:
  • A personalized set of fashion croquis
  • A series of fashion plates, including a cohesive capsule collection
  • An original garment pattern in their size
  • A finished fashion garment
Students will learn to develop designs and communicate them using fashion croquis (sketches of clothing on the human form). We’ll look at how fabric is used as a body covering and how to develop garments that are both beautiful and functional. Students will use a set of personalized croquis to create fashion plates rendered in color.
